About us

Veronika Šola graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in jewelry design from the Pforzheim University of Design in 2019. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in exploring forms that relate to the human body and its individuality, as well as in utilizing ancient casting techniques to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each of her designs emerges from a theme that seamlessly combines storytelling with craftsmanship. Since 2020, she has been working as a freelance jewelry designer under her eponymous brand, creating pieces in her own studio in Cologne, Germany.

What makes our jewelry special, beside it is all handcrafted?

Forms, structures, unevenness are the source of beauty and naturalness. Fine, uneven surfaces in combination with classic jewelry forms are combined with each other in lost, antique casting techniques and give them a special aura.

The production of jewelry in lost castings, such as Sand and Ashanti castings, combines nature with the original craftsmanship within the process. This energy remains in the jewelry and is absorbed when worn.

Well as lively aura.

Each piece is individually handcrafted in a small workshop in the heart of Cologne with attention to detail.

Always open to new ideas and forms that our environment gives us.

Is our jewelry sustainable and ethical?

From the very beginning, sustainability and ethical practices have been at the core of our values. When we founded our company in 2019, we committed to working as fairly and responsibly as possible. As a Cologne-based brand, we prioritize sourcing materials and services exclusively from German companies to ensure transparent supply chains and fair labor conditions under German law.

Our precious metals are 100% recycled, sourced from Bernhard Burger AG, a certified refinery dedicated to responsible practices. Additionally, we work with laboratory-grown diamonds from the EU and collaborate with select German stone dealers who specialize in ethically sourced gemstones.

A key aspect of our sustainability efforts is the restoration and transformation of existing jewelry. We offer specialized services in melting down and repurposing old precious metal jewelry, as well as resetting inherited or unworn gemstones. We encourage our customers to breathe new life into pieces that may be forgotten in a drawer, emphasizing that materials like gold are finite and should be cherished.

If you have any questions or would like to explore sustainable jewelry options, feel free to contact us via email or schedule a personal appointment.

Ashanti cast from Ghana

Ashanti casting is a complex process in a so-called lost casting. Wax models are coated in several steps with a mass of fireclay, bentonite and horse dung, which is then hardened in the sun or at a warm place. The wax model from the inside melts out and forms a negative mould, which can then be filled with gold or silver, for example. The mould as well as the wax model are destroyed in the process - each piece of jewellery is a unique casting and an absolute unique piece.

The Sand casting

Sand casting also works on the principle of the lost cast, which means that the mould is destroyed or burnt after a single use to remove the cast body. An imprint of the model is made in the sand which can be poured directly through a sprue channel with liquid metal such as gold and silver.
Because of the surface of the sand and the possibility to create lively surfaces and new forms with simple tools, this technique is suitable for creating wonderfully interesting unique pieces. Every piece gets its own character and is unique.
